It’s also just a 10-minute drive from the small, but bustling, town of Amesbury, which has lots of facilities and amenities.

History
Figheldean has a rich history, largely grounded in farming.
There’s evidence of prehistoric sites around the village from long barrows to Roman villas, showing that people have been living off the land here for at least 6,000 years.
The Domesday Book records the village as ‘Ffugeldene’ which suggests Anglo Saxon heritage. The church, St Michael and All Angels, is first mentioned in Henry I’s 1115 charter granting its lands and revenues to the cathedral at Old Sarum. It has two ancient bells – one from the 16th Century and the second from the 18th.
The village is home to the beautiful, historic Grade II listed, Georgian manor house, Syrencot House. The house and contemporary barn is now a stunning wedding venue set in five acres of riverside grounds and gardens with 13 guest bedrooms.
